Cashless: Gas Bureaus get PoS machines

Doing away with the requirement for money, gasoline agencies in the State have started utilizing Point of Sale (PoS) machines and e-wallets for getting payment from LPG consumers.

“It’s being done in stages… we would like to pay for the whole State. Agencies which have PoS machines as of today are currently utilizing them. Banks continue to be in the process of dispersing the machines,” said an oil industry supply.

Kannan Venkatesalu, a senior resident, and citizen of Vettuvankanni stated he’d swiped his card for payment in his bureau. “Although I’m not quite knowledgeable about such new styles of obligations, I concur that there’s an edge in the machine and Indane gas new connection. I want not take money with me. The trade also occurs quite fast,” he explained.

K.R. Gowthaman of Sri Ambigram Indane Gas Agencies stated over 100 clients had utilized the PoS machine in his socket in the last week. “We’d applied to your machine much prior to the demonetization drive, which had been the main reason behind our getting it so fast. My delivery boys have the machines,” he explained adding that not many of his clients didn’t have credit or debit cards because most of them have a bank account.

The PoS machines are electronic and have 4G sim cards inside. Customers’ numbers are entered as well as the client receives the receipt and Indane gas connection transfer. The agency receives the confirmation he clarified.

Resources in Indian Petroleum Corporation clarified that the delivery boys were supplied smartphones. From the Chennai area, 100 bureaus possess e-wallets and 12 have PoS. The centers are offered in the bureau and with the delivery boys. “Even clients, who don’t have smartphones may use the system. But people that are comfortable with money obligations can do this,” said an official.
